Kihachi in Hakuba-mura

Relatively small izakaya. Food was fantastic, you know it's good when they run out of certain menu items by 8pm. I'd recommend the chicken yakitori (obviously) and to try the gyoza. The gyoza has a twist in that it is fried with a crispy chicken skin tightly wrapped around it. Makes for a very different dumpling oishii. Staff were lovely, would go again in a heart beat. Also it's a good place for a group just need to book in advance.

Pros- Food was good...the roasted rice balls with miso and butter was delicious. Cons- no free green tea which is common in most eateries, but they charge ¥300 for a small cup. We were caught by surprise when the total bill for 2 pax came to ¥6,300 out of which ¥1,500 was for green tea!
